Day 10 Time To Say Until Next Time Planet Airport Lodge
Day1: Arrival Kilimanjaro
Welcome to Africa! Upon arrival at Mt. Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by an Infinite Safari Adventure representative who will transfer you to Rivertrees Lodge, a luxurious converted old coffee farm a half an hour from the airport. Your guide will be with you your entire safari. There is a pool as well as pleasant grounds to walk around, monkeys in the trees and massage and Wi-Fi facilities. Rest, Relax & Get Ready to experience Africa!
Day 2: Off To Tarangire
This morning after breakfast you will head to Tarangire National Park. You will do a game drive as you make your way to your accommodations. Tarangire has one of the densest populations of elephants in Africa and it is not uncommon to have one wander into camp! Return at the end of the day to watch the sunset before heading off to dinner. You might even fall asleep to the sounds of lions off in the distance or close up! (But don’t worry there are Maasai guards posted around camp all night).
Day 4: Off To Lake Manyara
This morning you will leave Tarangire and drive up the Great Rift Valley to the Lake Manyara National Park. This park is home to the tree climbing lions and boasts a large soda lake where there is an opportunity to spot hippo and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Then you will make your way to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater to spend the night. Rest up for an early morning departure into the Crater.
Today you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a game drive in one of the mostly densely packed wildlife areas in the world. Ngorongoro Crater is a collapsed volcano (a caldera) that formed about 2-3 million years ago. Measuring just 100 square miles on the floor it also boasts one of the densest population of lions in the area. At the end of the day, ascend the rim again and savor all that you have seen.
This morning you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservancy and begin your journey to the Northern Serengeti. Because it is a long drive today you will do a game drive as you make your way to the Central Serengeti where we will stop for the night. There is a lot of wildlife in this area. Your exploration will be in the vast plains of the Serengeti with its unique “Kopis” or rock outcroppings (where lions and leopards are sometimes spotted using the rocks as their vantage point).
Spend a full day in the Serengeti. You will go on a game drive to look for wildlife and perhaps enjoy a lunch in the bush. There is a wide variety of wildlife in the area. The return at the end of the day to sit around the fire, enjoy a sundowner and contemplate all that you have seen. Spend another night Nasikia Mobile Camp (FB).
DAILY SUMMARY
Today is your final day in the Serengeti. You could spend weeks here and not see everything. Your guide will continue to educate you how all of the animals and nature live together. As you sip your sundowner around the fire think back on all that you have seen, all that you have done and the people you have met. Spend a final night at Nasikia Mobile Camp
All good things must come to an end, but it is not goodby but only until next time. Africa is now in your blood. At the appropriate time and after saying goodbye to your guide who probably has become like a member of your own family, you will board a flight back to JRO. Depending on your international flight we will arrange to take you to a hotel minutes from the airport where we will arrange a day room for you where you can rest and relax. If it is clear will you may even have a great view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Then at the appropriate time, you will be transferred back to the airport for your international flight home.
